Three bikers killed on Arkansas highway

WELL, ARKANSAS STETA POLICE ALL BIKERS INVOLVED ARE OUT OF LOUISNAIA NOW POLICE, DEPUTY AND FIRE DEPARTMENTS AND FIRST RESPONDERS. WE ARE HERE ON INTERSTATE FOR MORE THAN 5 HOURS. LAST NIGHT COUPLE SAID EYTH LITTLE HITTED BY THIS TRUCK. IT WAS STRAIGHT TO THEM. I WAS BEHIND THE BIKERS. LITERALLY LIKE TEN, LIKE 20 FEET AWAY AS I LOOKED, SHE SAW THE TRUCK. I SAW THE IMPACT AND EXPLOSION IN MOTORCYCLES AND JUST WE ALL MAKE A BIG EXPLOSION AND I TRYED VERY HARD TO NOT ANYBODY. NO, I DON’T KNOW WHERE THEY COME FROM. I SEE THEM DRIVING THIS WAY JUST AFTER 6 AM THURSDAY NIGHT. SINAEN KITAGAWA, 20, WAS DRIVING ON INTERSTATE 40 WITH HER BOYFRIEND. ADAM WALKER, 22. HE SHOT THIS VIDEO OF THE CRASH. ARKANSAS STATE POLICE SAYS 29-YEAR-OLD IVAN, A SANTOS FROM NORMAN, OKLAHOMA, WAS DRIVING THE PICKUP WHICH WAS IN THE BAD IN WESTBOUND LANES ON THE INTERSTATE. EVERYTHING HAPPENED SO FAST, IT’S SO UNREAL. POLICE SAY THE TRUCK HIT A GROUP OF SIX MOTORCYCLES KILLING 14. LEONARD LARAM JR, 6, PATRICIA LAMAR 44 AND MELINDA CIANO 50, ALL OF LOUISIANA. FOUR OTHER MOTORCYCLES WERE TAKEN TO A LOCAL HOSPITAL ALONGSIDE THE TRUCK DRIVER AND A PASSENGER. THEIR CONDITIONS ARE UNKNOWN. YOU CAN SEE WHAT’S REMAINING OF THE TRUCK AFTER IT HAS BEEN TOWED AND THE MOTORCYCLES ARE ALMOST UNRECOGNIZABLE. IT’S SOMETHING YOUNG COUPLE FROM ARK WHO WITNESSED THE ACCIDENT THEY WILL NEVER FORGET. I STILL THINK OF IT, BUT LIKE IT AFFECTS MORE BECAUSE SHE DOESN’T DRIVE THEM ANYMORE. SHE DOESN’T WANT TO DRIVE AT THE MOMENT, WITNESSES TOLD US THAT IT APPEARS THE DRIVER OF THIS TRUCK IS MOVING AT A VERY HIGH SPEED IN THE ONCOMING TRAFFIC. STATE POLICE HAS NOT CURRENTLY DETERMINED HOW SPEED THIS DRIVER WAS ACTUALLY GOING OR WHY HE WAS GOING THE WRONG WAONY HE INTERSTATE. THEY SAY IT MAY BE SEVERAL DAYS UNTIL THEY CAN RELEASE MORE INFORMATION FROM THERE INVESTIGATION UNDERWAY

An oncoming crash on Interstate 40 killed three motorcyclists Thursday night, according to a preliminary crash summary released by Arkansas State Police. Ivan Santos, 29, of Norman, Oklahoma, was driving a van eastbound in the westbound lanes of I-40 in Dyer around 6 p.m. on May 12, according to the report. Santos’ truck hit a group of six motorcyclists going in the right direction in the left lane. Three of the motorcyclists were killed. Leonard Lemar Jr., 46, and his passenger Patricia Lemar, 44, have died. They were both from Slidell, Louisiana. Malinda Shano, 50, of Terryton, Louisiana, was also killed. Four other people riding motorcycles were sent to hospitals. Santos and his passenger were also injured. The weather was clear and the road was dry at the time, according to the report. .
