Surveillance video: Wanted murder suspect seen running after allegedly killing air conditioning repairman in SW Harris County

HARRIS COUNTY, Texas (KTRK) – ABC13 has received new video of the suspect wanted in the murder of an air conditioning repairman in southwestern Harris County.

A 51-year-old repairman was fatally shot Thursday night in the 3900 block of Summit Valley Drive.

Deputies responded to the shooting at around 6.35pm. Upon arrival, they found the victim unconscious from multiple gunshot wounds.

According to the Harris County Sheriff’s Office, the victim was working at a home when she was confronted by an unidentified man, who then shot her.

A neighbor who does not want to be identified said she spoke to the customer about getting her air conditioner fixed. She will be referred to as Jane Doe in this article.

A customer said that the repairman had just arrived at the house and had not yet started work.

“He (the repairman) went in the door to find out what was going on with the air conditioner, then came out to get his stuff, his equipment, to start working on it,” Doe said. “That’s when he was shot.

ABC13 obtained exclusive video of the alleged shooter fleeing the scene shortly after the shooting on Summit Valley Drive around 6:30 p.m. Thursday.

The video shows HCSO deputies confronting this suspect one block from the crime scene.

“The man fled the scene to a residence about a block from where he entered a vehicle that was unlocked,” said Greg Pinkins of the HCSO Homicide Division. “That’s where the deputies found him, confronted him. He walked away. The deputies lost him.”

Life Flight transported the repairman to Memorial Hermann Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

Officials searched for the suspect after it was reported he entered an unlocked vehicle about a block from the scene of the shooting.

“We are all scared. We fear for our lives because the suspect has not been arrested,” Doe said.

Deputies couldn’t find him, but described him as a black man with an afro. He was last seen wearing a black T-shirt with the word “Glock” on the front, red sweatpants, and red slippers.

Investigators warn that anyone who encounters the suspect should not approach him but instead call 911 as he is considered armed and dangerous.

The reason for the shooting is unknown at this time.
