Tribute to the great Naomi Judd.
April 30, at age 76, country music icon Naomi Judd has tragically passed away by suicide, just a day before his official induction into the Country Music Hall of Fame.
CMT will be stream Naomi’s live public memorial this Sunday at 5 p.m., and confirmed that close family friend Robin Roberts will host the show, which takes place at the Mother Church of Country Music in the Ryman Auditorium.
Some of Naomi’s fellow country music singers will be there to perform, including Ashley McBryde, Brandi Carlile, Carly Pearce, Emmylou Harris & Allison Russell, Little Big Town and Martina McBride, as well as other musicians like Bono and The Gaithers.
Morgan Freeman, Oprah Winfrey and Salma Hayek will be there to talk, and Ashley and Wynonna Judd will also be in attendance, along with Naomi’s husband of 35 years and “Pop” for the girls, Larry Strickland.
However, other special guests have also been added to the lineup, including Brad Paisley, Carly Pearce (who will now also perform), Jamey Johnson, Reba, Bette Midler and Reese Witherspoon.
